stay tuned: fun stuff a-comin’

Fun

I’m not being quiet. I’m being busy. But Summer is almost over, and you know what that means… hermit mode = extra computer attention. But there’s lotsa fun stuff on the horizon here: a few hardware reviews, a mix set in the making… and once I get caught up, some video blogging fun.

We’re doing big things here, kids.

vlogging, here I come

I’ve been talking about vlogging for a while… it was only a matter of time before I could find a phone that would allow me to vlog without carrying some sort of additional camera around. I can’t say where this effort is gonna go content-wise, so I’m just gonna let it become what it becomes.

Just what I need… another medium where I can expose myself. :)

PS3 vs. Wii - Apple Style

"I’m cheap, AND fun."

I love it.  I wish this ad was a real Nintendo Wii ad.  This kind of expresses my feelings towards my Xbox 360.  Lots of big tech-specs and hi-res games… but where is the fun gameplay?  Maybe Wii is for mii after all.

Yay Nintendo.  Keep it simple.  And slutty.

goodbye and good luck, my xbox 360

XBOX 360

I’m selling my xbox 360. I remember being so exicited for this sucka to come out. It was my first non-Nintendo console… does that make it a Nontendo?… anyhow, it made me think about my interests in gaming.

Now more than ever, pretty graphics just aren’t enough for me. The 360 has been out for almost a year, and I still don’t see any must-have titles on the horizon. Sure, you could argue for Halo 3… but most first person shooters are always 10 times as fun on a PC. The 360 lineup just leaves so much to be desired for me. Action, adventure and old-fashioned non-MMO RPGs are where it’s at for me on console systems. In my eyes, the 360 doesn’t deliver.

So am I done with console gaming? I can’t imagine that being the case. If I got another console down the road, it might be a Nintendo Wii… going back to what’s just fun. Criticize Nintendo all you want for their crazy ideas… they’ve got plenty. They’ve been working alright so far, though (working meaning making fun games and not leading the industry in sales). I’ll always have fun playing a Mario or a Zelda. These are fixes that other consoles and PC gaming can’t give me.

So I’m putting my xbox premium package, and the 4 games I have for it, on craigslist for sale to a local buyer here in Vancouver. But rather than bitch about the xbox, I do the “I don’t have time to play it,” excuse. I save my bitchings / rants for you guys :)

my new status: online

returning_1.jpgI’ve kinda been away for a while. It feels that way, anyhow.

The moblog wasn’t getting the love it usually gets… updates have been weeks delayed, and in huge batches all at once… when I finally did update it. The blog barely got any love, except for when I had a mix to throw up here. I had purged my PC gaming activities. I even froze my World of World of Warcraft account. Yeah, I know…. crazy, huh.

But I have come to my senses.

To quote a favorite song of mine, “Sometimes you’ve gotta get away… to wanna go back home again.” So I’m back. This nerd missed his nerdly online hobbies.
