Where are you? No updates? Where are the Vancouver Pride photos? What’s going on with your moblog, if Textamerica is going away?

I’ve gotten some great emails from folks regarding the future of my blog. It’s really been encouraging. And while it appears from a visitor’s standpoint, that this blog is standing still, it’s quite the opposite.

I’ve been working feverishly that last couple weeks, on rebuilding my blog - from the interior. This whole initiative was brought on by Textamerica announcing that they’ll no longer be able to support even paying members of their moblog (mobile photo blog) hosting service… the engine I’ve been using for almost 4 years. So I gotta move… and soon. While I’ve loved using their content engine, moving to a more versative and stable hosting service, is probably for the best anyhow.

The last few nights, I’ve made myself stop and go to bed at 4am… and that’s after working a full day at this desk before fiddling with all this blog drama. I’m aiming at getting things transitioned before the move to Ottawa takes up too much of my life.. and that’s only a week away.

It won’t appear to be too different, visually… but under the hood, it will be a whole other animal, and will offer some sweet new features right off the line. In time, I’ll do a aesthetics redesign… but with an insane month ahead, I’m attempting to bite off enough already as it is.

So bear with me on this.. I’ll soon be back to the whole point of this blog… the content!

In the hunt for the next great MMO (for me, anyways), I’ve been considering a few games. At the top of the list is Tabula Rasa, a sweet new Sci-Fi style MMORPG with some awesome new gameplay elements. Think Starship Troopers Vs. Star Trek. Intense, third-person shooter style combat, but altered to accomodate RPG gameplay; unique PVP clan set up, a focus on storyline, and a living warfare experience reflective of gamers’ choices. It’s pretty cool. Check out the Tabula Rasa website or some great previews/pics/videos of the game at IGN’s Tabula Rasa area.

I just weaseled my way into Fileplanet’s members-only beta program, that allows limited play time before release - a couple weeknights a week, and full weekends. I’m just downloading the client now, but can safely say I’m gonna jump into this game headfirst.

So… my buddy Zane and I were thinking it would be sweet to see about starting Tabula Rasa’s first gay clan. I’m not sure how the game is set up as far as servers, and there will likely only be a test server available until the game actually launches. But I wanted to get the info of interested folks so that when the full release is out, we can kick off some sweet alien-butt-kicking fun with a good group of gamers.
