gregory douglass: amazing singer / songwriter

 Gregory Douglass

A few weeks ago, I was browsing around my usual collection of blogs, and by way of blogroll, found MeetJustin. On his blog, he interviewed Gregory Douglass, a talented singer/songwriter from the East coast. I got the impression that Gregory was family, too (though I don’t see this confirmed anywhere… though he’s played some pride events)… anyhow, it made me curious about his music.

So I tossed his name into Rhapsody and started listening to his latest album, Stark. It’s amazing.

He sites Tori Amos as a big influence of his (another reason I’m thinking this one plays for our team). It’s pretty evident in his music, especially in the tracks “Crazy Love” and “Sail the Sea.” Other than that connection, I really can’t compare his CD to anyone else’s. It’s great. Give it a listen.

If you like the tracks below, check out his myspace or give the whole album a listen on Rhapsody.

Greg is a Vermont native. We’ve supported his career for many years now. I am proud to call him a friend. Not only is he an amazing singer/songwriter, but he also plays guitar and/or piano on all his songs. Watching him perform live is cathartic, almost painful. He owns EMOTE.

Greg is most certainly gay – and can often be seen in the company of one particularly gorgeous young man.

Thanks for giving Greg some much-deserved attention.

I think I recall his site saying he’ll consider playing to a private audience on a recommened donation basis, if you can guarantee a certain number in attendance. I’ve considered doing this…

Hey! This is the coolest thing!!
I made you your Iced Venti Coffee at Starbucks yesterday! (Hope it tasted alright. =P)
I didn’t get to say Hi though because I was nervously making other drinks. =(
I promise I will greet you next time!

*Somehow, it sounds wrong that I’m telling you this here~ LOL

In the meanwhile, you were all smiley!! =D

    Coolness.

Of course I was smiley… it was my second iced venti coffee!

Hey, I see on your blog that you like the Sony Ericsson w800i. Interested in buying one in mint condition?

  • Tony June 12th, 2006 12:11 am

As much as I love SE w800i, the reason why I still haven’t got it is because I have a real thing for flip phones. =(

I turned my heart to sharp 903…but the battery life just blows it…as much as the camera is looking quite sharp there~ =( But being the superficial me when it comes to gadgets like phone, this vodafone definitely looks hot! =D

Thank you for the offer though, Andy. I needa do some more browsing before snatching a new phone (and I might need your help too!) =D

You’re planning to get a new phone, too?

  • Andrew June 12th, 2006 12:23 pm

    Probably the n93, yeah…

  • Tony June 13th, 2006 5:15 pm

I gave up on Nokia years ago because I don’t like how it is going with the phone appearances. However, I gotta say, the n-series is really getting my attention back and n93 is probably the best model these few years by Nokia.

But I thought you dreaded using a flip, big-sized phone?

  • Andrew June 13th, 2006 11:39 pm

In many ways, I do. But you’ll be hard-pressed to find a phone with a candybar form-factor, that would do video stuff as well as the N93… it has to be some sort of transformer, in order to rotate the screen or camera module for shooting flexibility. If the rumors of their next video phone to be released *after* this one is true… then perhaps they’re making a slider into some sort of transformer. If anyone will try it, it’s Nokia.

meh~ No phones look good now. For those that do look nice, their functions suck…

    I should just…wait… =___=”

  • Tony June 19th, 2006 11:30 pm

    Boo!
I want a new phone too!
    Boo!!

But I guess we will have to wait for your “movlogging”? (Or whichever way you spelled it =D)

    But cool phone Andy!
I should look more into Nokia!
