It’s awesome to feel hopeful
This Robyn song is perfect for how I’m feeling.
I typically leave talk of politics out of my blog, and leave it to the writers who passionately focus in that area. I’m certainly no expert. But I felt compelled to share - along with countless other Americans and individuals across the world - a simple statement of how hopeful I feel with Obama ready to lead the country.
Hearing Obama’s first speech as President-elect, effected me. When he called out gays specifically, among the under-represented minority groups, as part of America… I felt hopeful, for the first time in my whole adult life, that the leader of my country didn’t see me as the enemy, didn’t damn me with ages of religious hate… and told me, to my face, that I was America, too.
Pretty damn cool. Just wanted to share.
Robyn rocks. This song is great and the video is pretty cool too. I’m still playing the ocelot mthrckrs mix of Be Mine on my journey to work…..gets me going on the Paris metro.

Hey Andy, I feel the same way. It is kinda hard knowing people see me as a threat. Me still me being college, I see it from both sides especially living in the Bible Belt down here in Florida. Yes, I am an American and it is great for someone to agree. :)
