new metal ipod nanos: yes please

iPod Nanos

Sweet. This morning, Apple just announced new brushed metal colored iPod minis. Finally an iPod that I can toss my old mini for. With the tiny size and especially the Nike Plus running software…. this will pretty much be the perfect mp3 player for me. Especially since it’s no longer going to be so fragile.

As far as storage and pricing goes, the 2GB ($149) comes in silver, the 4GB ($199) in silver, pink, green, blue, and 8GB ($249) is only available in black.

The new nanos a cool but the new version of iTunes is soooo ugly! I hope this is not a taste of what OS X Leopard is going to look like!
    Yeah, I’m a Mac junkie…

hmm, i wonder if it will be easier to import wma’s? i ripped 2/3’s of my cd library in wma format b4 microsoft came out w/ an mp3 extension for media player :(. this is the only thing that has kept me outta the ipod realm!

And they’ve started shipping already… Pretty quick. The ad is also very groovy.
But I still like the old design with the reflective metal backing.

Skeptical about the 24 hour battery life though. The current one boasts 14 hours of playback life but dies within 3 hours if the backlight is switched on.

    Hey man,
I love your site. It is very impressive. Find it through your page on BMC. I think you found yourself a regular visitor in TN.

    Much love,
    Ryan

The Nike+ site and software are great. I’ve become a total addict. Being able to have my progress (or lack thereof) at my fingertips has really inspired me to push myself… I think you’ll love it.

Who’s loving the gapless playback??! It’s not completely gapless but good enough. :)
