Sony Ericsson’s w800 2mp camera / walkman phone
This annoucement was a very pleasant surprise. Waiting with bated breath for Nokia’s March 1 annoucement, I found it was completely blown away by what Sony Ericsson was revealing.
I had been pretty excited to see an offical announcement for Sony Ericsson’s K750 phone - or “Clara,” as it had been nicknamed. I had also heard about SE’s plan to release a Walkman branded phone. I had no idea it would be a Walkman phone on top of Clara’s impressive feature set.

I will have to say goodbye to my Nokia 7610 when this sucker comes out.
man but you are a phone whore! sure you love this one, but it’ll be gone a couple months later… i gotta stick with the SE’s though - you’re totally right about their UI’s.
first i’ve heard of this model. now’s prolly the time to shell out the cash at last.

Well, the x800, yeah… at least that’s all they’ve announced. But the k750i - a very similar phone with no dedicated music button and a smaller memory card - will come in black. It still plays mp3s, but it’s just *less* designed as a music player. I may get that first… as I have an iPod and I hear it will be out quicker than this w800 model.
I have been keeping track of SE phones for a few years now and very excited to see some great innovation. I, too, am a gadget geek; I’ve pretty much had a new phone every year. I recently got a Motorola MPx220, my first non-SE phone in 3 years… MISTAKE! I’m going back to SE! I didn’t read all the specs, but it would be nice if it was quad-band.

The only color I know of for the w800 model is orange… but I’ve seen the similar k750i model (no music button, doesn’t come with the massive storage card) in blank and blank/silver. I doubt I’ll wait the extra months for the x800… as I’m ready for a phone upgrade. I’ve bad my Nokia 7610 for almost a year! :O
I too want this phone since I’ll never be able to afford the Treo 650 since you have to pay nearly 700 bucks for an unlocked model for T-mobile. I just hope T-mobile gets this phone when it comes out. I currently own a Nokia 6800 and it’s great for text messaging, but it doesn’t have a camera and doesn’t play mp3’s. I used to own a Motorola V300 which had a built in camera, but I sold it when I got my Nokia. I miss having a camera with me all the time now. Any idea how much this Sony phone is going to cost. I love it’s orange color as it is my favorite color and I think this phone would suit me perfect.
